Greatest Playoff Runs
Every great May, ranked — all-around, two-way: offense, defense, and net rating across 30 postseasons. Per-possession dominance first, winning second.
How it's scored: an all-around, two-way score — per-100 playoff scoring plus shooting efficiency, plus defensive impact (DBPM, points prevented per 100 possessions, counting one-for-one with scoring), plus a quarter-share of the team's playoff net rating. Then +2 per round won and +4 for the title — winning matters, but it never swamps the per-possession signal. Duos and trios are the best two-way units whose members each played real rotation roles (40+ regular-season games, 12+ playoff games — every unit here won a series). Fives and starters aren't ranked: the source minutes field can't identify them, so we don't fake them. Team runs are ranked by official playoff net rating (Basketball-Reference), minimum two series won. Every figure recomputes from stats.nba.com splits, 1996-97 → 2025-26 and Basketball-Reference advanced stats.
The single-season version: playoff risers & fallers — whose scoring leapt or collapsed in May.
